With a total budget of €229,000 and a grant of €170,000, this project explores how design and agile methodologies can be key tools for the transition to the circular economy in the construction sector. BUILDING LEGACY aims to conceptualise, design and prototype a technological system to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the reuse of construction elements from buildings, thus extending their useful life.

This system, developed with the leadership of the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation and the participation of the Clúster Materiales Avanzados, COMSA, La Salle, Inèdit Innovación, Intemic and the collaboration of Holon, promotes sustainability through better management of material resources, reducing waste and maximising the value of reused elements. The project methodology combines the rigour of research with the agility of design to create prototypes that are not only functionally efficient, but also easy to integrate into existing industrial and architectural processes. The implementation of the project, which runs until June 2025, is notable for its collaborative approach, bringing together technical, creative and business expertise to transform one of the most critical sectors in terms of environmental impact.

The project is supported and financed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade through the programme of support for Innovative Business Clusters.
