With a budget of €308,000 and a grant of €240,000, AYRA is an industrial research project that combines technology, design and health to improve the quality of life of children with acute illnesses requiring home admission. Its main objective is to develop and validate a comprehensive system to measure the quality of the home environment, paying special attention to environmental factors that may influence patients' recovery.
This innovative system, led by the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation, integrates real-time data to provide a continuous assessment of air quality, comfort level and other environmental parameters. This allows caregivers and healthcare professionals to personalise interventions, thereby improving clinical outcomes and children's well-being. The project has top-level partners such as Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, Domestic Data Streamers, Pumba, The Left Bit and the Health Cluster, which provide expertise in health, data analysis and the development of interactive technologies. AYRA is distinguished by its human approach, placing the needs of children and their families at the centre of innovation, and will contribute to setting new standards in home healthcare.
The project is supported and financed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade through the programme of support for Innovative Business Clusters.
