Barcelona Design Center participates in 'Young Designers for Next Generation Europe' project

Barcelona Design Center participates in Young Designers for Next Generation Europe (NextGenDesign) project. This project unites five major international design platforms and festivals (Skopje Design Week in Macedonia, Mikser festival in Belgrade, designaustria with Vienna Design Week, What Design Can Do in Amsterdam and Barcelona Design Center with Barcelona Design Week) in an unprecedented initiative to promote and educate about the green and sustainable design in the next 3 years.

“NextGenDesign” (Young Designers for Next Generation Europe)

Through a new digital platform and a special program at the associated festivals, the project seeks to offer informal training to young designers through an exchange residency program and promotional and educational activities for the design sector and the general public. The aim is to raise awareness of the responsibility of designers and consumers in the context of the European Green Deal.

Young designers from all over Europe will be invited, through an open call, to propose innovative solutions to local problems related to the Green Deal. These problems will be mapped using a questionnaire that partners will distribute to young people across Europe.

Young Designers for Next Generation Europe seeks to address the challenges of climate and environmental change, and underlines the importance of meaningful youth participation, key to the success of the European Green Deal.

Stay tuned for more information on how to participate and contribute to this initiative on which we have already started working at in a meeting in Belgrade on January 30th and 31st. Together for a greener Europe!
