Innovation through Design: a business opportunity

What is it?

Barcelona Design Innovation Cluster is an initiative aiming to pool innovative companies seeking or offering design services, as well as supporting organizations and public bodies in order to increase competitiveness in sectors where design is a strategic element and a driver for innovation.
This initiative is jointly promoted by BCD, Barcelona Design Centre, and 22@Barcelona, being BCD the managing entity.

What are we aiming for?

We want to position Barcelona, and by extension, Catalonia as a centre of excellence at international level in innovation through design, enhancing its value through different activities aimed at companies, institutions, educational centres and active organisations within the Catalonian scene.

How do we achieve this?

• Boosting the development of new markets
• Promoting environment suitability in order to provide a platform for the creation of new innovative products and services through the use of design
• Encouraging networking between companies, institutions, educational centres and R&D+i&d
• Increasing the cluster's international visibility
• Driving actions to attract investment and talent

To whom is it directed?

Companies demanding and offering design services are eligible to join the cluster, as well as foresight and innovative supporting organisations showing a serious commitment to any of the four identified strategic areas.
